This SEQM Training Online Self-Paced ISO 9001:2026 Updade Course is designed for those who are already familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and now need to understand the key changes within the revised 2026 version.

Rather than teaching the standard from the beginning, the course focuses on the transition: what has changed, why those changes matter, and how they affect quality management systems in practice.

You may be an Auditor who needs to understand what evidence to look for, a Tutor who needs to explain and assess conformity with the new requirements, or a Consultant who needs to guide organisations through the revision with confidence.

By the end of the course you should feel more confident in understanding the 2026 update and applying it within an environmental management system.

Attendees will receive a detailed understanding of:

The main drivers behind the revision, including the need for clearer requirements, a stronger focus on leadership and quality culture, a faster-changing and more technology-driven business environment, climate change considerations and closer alignment with other ISO management system standards

What has stayed the same, including the ten-clause Harmonised Structure, the process approach, the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, risk-based thinking and the seven quality management principles

The transition timeline: published on 16 September 2026, with a three-year transition period expected to run to September 2029 (the deadline is set by the IAF and your certification body, not by the standard itself)

Clause 3 – Terms and definitions: the core management system terms now included in ISO 9001 itself, with ISO 9000:2026 remaining the reference for all quality terminology

Clause 4 – Context: the requirement to determine whether climate change is a relevant issue, and to consider climate-related requirements of interested parties

Clause 5 – Leadership: top management now required to promote quality culture and ethical behaviour, to promote both risk-based and opportunity-based thinking, and to protect the integrity of the QMS when changes are planned

Clause 6 – Planning: risks and opportunities separated into their own subclauses (6.1.2 and 6.1.3), each with its own actions and effectiveness evaluation, plus a strengthened Clause 6.3 on planning of changes

Clause 7 – Support: the environment for the operation of processes now covering social and psychological factors as well as physical ones, organisational knowledge held in digital systems, and awareness of the organisation’s quality culture and ethical behaviour

Clause 8 – Operation: customer communication now covering contingency actions and disruptions to the provision of products and services, with the wider operational requirements largely unchanged

Clause 9 – Performance evaluation: analysis and management review now looking separately at the effectiveness of actions on risks and on opportunities, defined objectives for each internal audit, and management review outputs renamed management review results

Clause 10 – Improvement: the clause reordered so that continual improvement comes first (10.1), followed by nonconformity and corrective action (10.2)

Annex A: the expanded informative annex that explains the intent behind each clause, and the removal of Annex B
